This course aims to build a supportive and understanding community where individuals facing mental health challenges AND the ones working to support them, feel safe, cared for, and develop a true sense of belonging.
Participants will have the opportunity to redefine their understanding of mental health, explore various experiences of mental illness, and consider the impact of stigma. The course also covers the process of recovery, the importance of companionship, the experience of caregiving, and self-care practices, all viewed through the lens of scripture and God's boundless love for His unique creation. Each session will include lived experiences of mental health challenges, practical and biblical tools for support, and insights from church leaders, theologians, and mental health professionals.
Class begins September 4 and runs for 8 weeks.
