When and how did you become a Christian? (Required)
We believe that short-term missionaries should be called out and sent by the church, provided they are willing and able. We probably know enough to send you, but we want you to tell us a few things about yourself for our mutual benefit. Please answer the following questions.
How would you explain the plan of salvation to a pre-Christian? (Required)
Have you had past missions experience? What type? (Required)
What is your purpose in applying for this missions experience? (Required)
What are the skills and gifts that you can use to enhance our missions experience? (Required)
If you do not attend Salem Bible Church, please provide us with your pastor’s name and contact information. (Required)
We also believe, while being sent ones by our church as ambassadors of Christ, we need to continue to demonstrate good stewardship. We are asking therefore that each participant commit to be a regular, contributing member of their church and be actively involved in Christian service and/or evangelism. We understand that there are many different situations and that no “rules” will work for each participant, therefore we are also asking that each participant be accountable to one of Salem’s leaders.
Do you agree to raise the estimated $2500 per person for this trip? (Required)
Participant Responsibilities: There will be monthly meetings established to help equip and prepare you to serve on this trip. Participants are expected to attend meetings in addition to attending a 6 week equipping hour class in the spring directly after the church service. You will also be expected to fundraise the cost of the trip, approximately $1,250 per person to TEAMS plus airfare. Do you agree to raise your estimated funds? If you are unable to raise your funds, you may not be able to attend. There will also be fundraising opportunities throughout the year. Participation is strongly encouraged, and all students who participate will have the opportunity to have those funds collected be distributed to their account.
